Indigenous leaders were calling it an historic day. Premier Dwight ball held roundtable discussions with the leaders of 11 indigenous groups across the province. They signed declarations calling for the repatriation of Beothuk remains from Scotland, and for Newfoundland and Labrador communities to be included in the public inquiry into missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.
